The family that prays

Sharing is caring

I woke up today to some fabulous news about a new job, a role I’ve wanted and prayed for, doing what I love, and am wired to do, in an organisation that I like.

Cloud formation

After coming down from my euphoric high, I sat down and reflected on my journey of the last 18 months, weighing up what God had done in my life, as opposed to what the world declared should happen.

The world said, taking redundancy, are you crazy! You’re a black woman, pushing 50, you’ll find it hard.

The world said, you’re too old to go back to university, stay in your lane.

The world said at 50, you should be slowing down, your life is over, careers are for younger people

The world said, why are you waiting for a job in this field? You’ve been turned down many times, take this job you’ve been offered it’s not what you want but it’s safe.

On March 16th 2015, I prayed, and as part of my prayer I had specific requests, God said, “Yes, and Amen” and I knew my prayers were answered.

I’ve dealt with a lot of nay-sayers, doubters, people who have judged and pigeon-hold me because of their preconceptions, misconceptions, and prejudices. I’m saying to everyone who reads this, don’t allow other people’s views of what they think you should do, be or are, become your reality, listen to what God has said about you.

“…You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. 14 Yes, ask anything, using my name, and I will do it!” John 14:13-14

The world says “You want a relationship! At your age! You’re too old!!!”

Let’s see what God says…
